May 15th 6:00pm -6:30pm cocktails (cash bar serving beer & wine coolers) and 7:00pm program. There are two choices for the meal: 1. Burger & Fries with tea & dessert/coffee. $15 2. The purpose of the Service Committee is to help any member propose a grant/project idea to the Board. We will help you fine tune your ideas, fill out the paperwork, and find co-sponsors (when needed). This meeting is a great way to get involved with the ways in which our club serves the community. We seek clarification in sending the best communication to the Board for possible approval. The Service Committee does not approve or disapprove grant/project requests. We also like to go to dinner together after the meeting! |

Pass by the Emergency Room on your left, go .2 (2/10) of a mile, watch for the sign below to show you where to turn left onto Emergency Drive. After you are on Emergency Drive, to your left is a vacant area, then a parking lot, then the Texas A&M Health Science Center where we hold Registration. There are large parking lots across the street for your use. |

It's time to have some fun for Fall y'all! Diana and I want to invite you to the first Fall Season social on Monday, August 13th. Wow! We have a great group of members as part of this group and we look forward to spending time with each of you! It's going to be a very fun but informal time of chatting and getting to know each other better over food and drinks. PLUS - we have a SURPRISE presentation that we are planning for one of the upcoming club meetings that we need your help to do. We'll tell you all about it on the 13th. So come to be a part of it! Updated 8/13/18: If you are attending this event, please wear your Altrusa name badge and your Altrusa t-shirt (if you have one). The primary task of Altrusans on Saturday is to assemble and serve the lunch. We will also be sticking around after lunch to help clean up. Other tasks we will be helping with: 1-2 Altrusans will be helping with registration 1-2 Altrusans will be assigned to every group of kids and will be rotating to the different book stations with that group. Altrusans will help with the craft activity and with moving from one station to the next. |

It's that time again for bagging and tagging. We also have edging needed on fleece too. We need about 8 people to make this happen. Marlene King and Sandy Hugo will also be there with sewing machines. We will be meeting at Wright Builders (off of Kegley Road). Light refreshments and drinks will be served. Hope to see you there!

Come join members of the Belton Days for Girls Club (some are members of Altrusa Temple, Central Texas & Chisholm Trail), as we assemble the Days for Girls kits. We will meet in the Fellowship Hall of FUMC Belton. This club has set a goal of making 100 kits, and we welcome you to join us. Our Spring Group cordially invites our Summer Friends to join us for a night of food, fellowship and service! Please sign up to bring a Soup, Appetizer or Dessert to share. Please join us as we prepare "Care Packages" for our adpoted military unit. Thank you for all the items donated for our unit! Over 20 boxes have already been sent, but we still need to pack and send about 20 more. Spring members will be working on this at our event, making cards to go in the boxes and a special surprise for the club that we will need "ALL HANDS ON DECK"!

Temple Altrusans & guests are invited to this "come and go" prep session to make the components for Days for Girls Kits. These kits allow girls in remote areas to have the dignity of being able to manage their menstrual cycles with sustainable kits, allowing them to attend school and become literate and contributors to the economy in their communities. Without having access to these kits, girls are shunned and not allowed to attend school during their periods. All are welcome as there are a variety of tasks from cutting, pinning, washing fabric to sewing and assembling the components. There will be wine & snacks. Come cheer us on! ASTRA UMHB is super excited to hold an Appreciation Banquet for the college lunch volunteers at the Belton First United Methodist Church (aka Meth House) next Friday, November 2, 6-8pm. The goal of this event is to make the church volunteers, who prep & serve free home-cooked meals to college students every Wednesday, feel appreciated & special. The evening will consist of: serving the guests a warm meal, sharing testimonials about how their hard work impacted our UMHB experience, decorating the facility, and presenting/making handmade favors for our guests to take home with them. If you would like to help out with the event next weekend, we need of help with: 1) Set up crew, headed by Joy Pryor and Alejandra Tristan, which will be the night before on Thursday (11/1) night at 8:30 pm. 2) Servers for the day of! We will need servers to be present before the event, next Friday (11/2) by 5:00pm. Our committee head for our serving team is Itzel Cruz 3) Please contact Traci Squarcette to help with cooking food. We are serving country fried steak w/ gravy, greenbeans, patriot potatoes, rolls, sheet cake, tea, & water. 4) if you would like to share a testimonial (make a 3-5 min speech) about how the college lunch wednesdays have impacted your UMHB experience or would like me to read it (not make a speech) during the event, please message me :) If you have any questions or would like to sign up to help on any of these days, please message me ASAP!
