First of all, I want to thank everyone for their efforts. The last few weeks have been incredibly busy for Altrusans, and we are on the home stretch for Taste of the Holidays.
We honored International President Kathy Folley with a reception and presented her with a Lamplighter from our club. What a fun event! A special thanks to Beverly Luedke and her husband Larry for hosting us in their beautiful home.
Our Make a Difference Day project was a huge success! A big thank you to Taryn Cox for coordinating our renovation of three bedrooms and bathrooms at Ronald McDonald House. This project took three days to complete, and I thank all of the volunteers who took time to paint, clean floors, assemble furniture and all of the other tasks that were involved.
Taste is almost here! By the time we meet on Tuesday, the preparations will be underway at the Mayborn Convention Center. If you have not signed up to help, it is not too late! Prep days are Tuesday and Wednesday, so if you have time to spare on those days, please come and help us get ready for our big event. Thursday is the day, so please be ready to work! The dress code for Taste is black pants, white top and the Altrusa apron. Please also wear your name badge and wear comfortable shoes. I'm so excited!
