Well...Guess what? We did not have a quorum at our meeting Tuesday and were unable to vote on our Kids Against Hunger Project and we were unable to vote on our officers and directors for 2017-2018 Altrusa year. We were five Altrusans short of the number required. We will revisit those two agenda items at our March 28th meeting. PLEASE PLAN TO ATTEND. WE NEED YOU!!!
Conference information from Governor Sylvia Zamora can be accessed here.
We still need additional room monitors for District Nine Conference in Waco. Please sign up to serve. Even if you do not plan to attend the conference, we can use your time and talent for an hour or two during the conference to monitor the Everything Room. Its an easy task. All you have to do is sit at a table and watch people...how cool is that ?
Thank you for allowing me to serve you and PLEASE, PLEASE, plan to attend the March 28th meeting!
Beginning with our Business Meeting December 13, 2016, we have a new caterer. Sherri Cox with Sugar 'N Spice Catering will be serving us awesome lunches. Sherri was the chef for Janet (the Caterer we had last Altrusa year), so we will be able to enjoy the same quality of food when had previously. The reservation process is the same and there is no change in price. Stacie will send out a reminder as she always does before each luncheon and you sign up for a meal. If you are bringing a guest, you sign up for a meal for your guest also. Easy process!
We also have a new deadline for reserving a meal. Thursday morning prior to the Tuesday meeting. That gives you more of a window to know whether or not your schedule permits you to attend and also invite a guest. If you have any questions, please give me a call or shoot me an email. dorothyg@hot.rr.com.
Remember the "100 for 100" challenges ...100 hours of personal service through Altrusa projects and fundraisers or other community service performed while wearing your Altrusa logo or pin? AND the donation of 100 books to our community? Well...here's an update...
We have donated over 400 books to our community through our Make A Difference Day Project. And Chip has an ever growing list of Altrusans who have reached the 100 hours of community service already.
Please continue to log your hours with Chip and his team so we can meet this goal for our district. Can you imagine all of the wonderful things we are accomplishing by simply giving back to our community through literacy and service!
If you plan to go to Conference in April 2017, don't forget to make your hotel reservation. The reservations at the host hotel could go quickly! Conference is a ton of fun and you will enjoy spending time with Altrusans from Temple and the other clubs in Disctrict Nine. Email me if you have any questions dorothyg@hot.rr.com.
Debbie Fendrick will be coordinating housing and travel for our District Nine Conference in Waco in 2017.
