TASTE UNDERWRITNIG THANK YOU GIFT WORK DAYS Taste of the Holidays Underwriting Chairs are looking for a few people to help with the thank you gifts we send to last years underwriters. We have several tasks to accomplish listed below. 1st Meeting - Bake 12 Bundt cakes and 20 loaf pans of pumpkin cake and pumpkin bread. 2nd Meeting - Make 32 jars of Honey Pumpkin Spice Butter as well as box, bag, and decorate the items for delivery to underwriters. Volunteers to take items with them for delivery to UW’s the following day. 3rd Meeting - Meeting to help sign the underwriting letters. It helps if you know an underwriter to adda personal message to the letters before they are sent out. Here is where we need the help for this second meeting. First, we need to make 32 jars of pumpkin butter (This is a real easy task) We will need to box and decorate 12 Large Bundt cakes for the Large Underwriters We will need to box and decorate 20 Loaf pans for the smaller level Underwriters We will need to bag and decorate 32 jars of pumpkin butter for all underwriters MOST IMPORTANTLY- We will need help delivering these 32 items to our underwriters. So if you cannot come to help prepare them for delivery but can show up later to take with you for delivery the next day that would be so helpful. I have attached a list of the people we need to deliver to if you can help please send me an email of who you would like to deliver to and I will put you down. Sharon & Michelle |

The Belton Days for Girls Team will meet at FUMC Belton for a work day to prepare components. Enter on the north side of the church, where you will see a door with an awning. There will be sewing to do (bring sewing machines), as well as all the other important tasks - cutting, sealing ribbon, stringing bags, marking liners, folding shields. New attendees are welcome! Annual ACS Bra Brunch is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Funds raised are used in Central Texas to provide transportation grants to area hospitals for free rides to treatment, free wigs to cancer patients experiencing hair loss, research, & education. Volunteers will act as hostesses for the event. Wear Altrusa t-shirt. |

Come help volunteer at this unique, community event that will help raise money for an all-abilities playground to be built. All kids deserve to play! https://www.varietytexas.org/sirena-events Meet at the main HQ Tent by Barrow Brewing Company and the Tennis Courts. Volunteers from our club(s) will be assigned in different areas under the direction of the Sirena Fest and Parade volunteer staff. These areas will include parade line-up at Pace Park, directing crosswalk, directing patrons to various vendors and activities. Promoting the playground through various means during the festival, photo booth and literacy table assistance. We will send out sign up sheets, so sign up for a couple of hours working with Temple and Chisolm Trail Altrusans as well as members of our ASTRA clubs. |

We are teaching ASTRA students how to put on a fundraiser. MOD Pizza has agreed to donate 20% of sales from ASTRA supporters for the entire day. Enjoy a great meal and support ASTRA UMHB. Make a difference in the lives of "at risk" senior citizens. Help us spread some cheer to 60 senior citizens who reside in one of three housing authority locations in downtown Temple. We will serve breakfast to attendees, lead a few games of bingo, and send them home with goody bags filled with usable items. How can you help? We will send out a sign up for you to volunteer to make/provide a breakfast item & we need volunteers to help with bingo & set-up/clean-up. The main dish will be a breakfast casserole. We will provide you with the pan and the recipe to use at the meeting on October 8th. Items may be dropped off at Kolache Kitchen #1 or brought to the Hal Rose Building the morning of. Please bring casseroles hot and ready to serve the morning of. We will schedule an additional date to assemble the goody bags. |

Come and enjoy an evening learning different types of yoga at our Altrusa Yoga Mixer. . The evening will start off with some yoga stretching and poses then double up for couples yoga then cool down and relax. Healthy snacks and drinks are provided afterwards. You may bring your own wine as well. The cost is $20 per person. If you have your own yoga mat and equipment you are more than welcome to bring them. No yoga experience is necessary. As you know, Altrusa will be serving lunch at the Belton Senior Center on Thursday, January 23. On Wednesday morning, we will meet at the Center to use the kitchen there to prepare the mini cheesecakes which will be served for dessert. If you have some time Wednesday morning, we would love to have your help to prepare them! No cooking/baking experience is necessary! |

Altrusa will be providing rolls, salad and dessert to accompany the meal being served at the Center. Lunch is served at 11:30 am so please arrive by 11:00 if you are able so we can have everything ready to go at serving time. Following lunch, Altrusa will be the sponsor for the weekly bingo game. We will provide prizes and will serve as bingo caller and verifiers. Bingo starts promptly at 12:30 pm and lasts for about an hour. This is always a fun event so please come out and join us. If you can't come for the whole time, please feel free to stay for as long as you can. We look forward to seeing you! |
