Weekly Update -- September 9, 2018
I want to invite everyone to our September Social  on Wednesday -the 12th. It will be a great time of fellowship, fun and getting to spend some time w. friends. If you know anyone that might be interested in joining Altrusa, this is a great event to bring them---it is at SPARE TIME starting @ 5:30. 
We also have our Business Meeting on Tuesday, and it is full of new projects, initiating new members and announcements on upcoming events & projects. I hope to see everyone there. See below in the newsletters (Download Section) for the link to the minutes from our August meetings along with the treasurer's report.

Communication Committee Needs
From Kelly Nix:
Communication Committee is seeking volunteers to help serve on the committee.  Positions needed include:
Attendance   – this person will produce sign in sheets.  Print and bring to meeting – set up table with pens, guests sign in sheets and name tags.  Explain the sign in process to the greeters.  Do a physical head count to verify everyone signed in.
Attendance   -  this person will input the attendance and hours into a club spreadsheet (already developed) and into Clubrunner.  Then email attendance to club president and membership chair and scan original sign in sheets into clubrunner.  At end of year – prepare a report for the president of perfect attendance, and hours served. 
Archives – this person needs to be familiar with documentation process in club runner and how to retrieve documents, photos and other information from club runner when requested.  There is also some physical documentation in storage.
Club display – this person will produce a year end summary of our clubs activities for conference on a display board – Criteria for judging display is sent out in the Spring – prior to conference.
Photography/Social Media  -(need 4 - 5 people)  this person attends club activities and meetings and photographs events.  Photos are uploaded into club runner and shared on our social media platforms.

Webpage – this person will review and update the club's webpage with current projects and photos.
Publicity – this person will contact and submit club projects and activities to local media, and district 9.
Scholarship Update
I wanted to make sure and introduce all the scholarship recipients from the spring. We have had the pleasure of a few being able to attend a meeting in June, but this is a very busy group of students. As you can tell, these are from 9 schools in the area----all the hard work with raffle sure pays off when you see this list!
 
In 2018 we had 49 scholarship applications and 11 scholarships were awarded. The students receiving the 2018 scholarships are:
