What a wonderful busy week we had for our Altrusa Temple club!

We had a fabulous time at District Nine Conference----the Temple Club was awarded Second Place in the Dr. Nina Fay Calhoun International Relations Award with our 'Days for Girls' project----Thank you Susan and Marlene for the support on this project! 

We appreciate  our own Governor Linda Moore for her leadership the past two years in District Nine and congratulate Mary Pearson with her election into Governor Elect. 

 

Below I will add some pictures from our 2 projects this week----on Tuesday we had our 'Families in Crisis---Handbags for Hope' project along w. our birthday celebration and then we came out on the stormy Thursday night and participated in the community wide 'Kids Against Hunger'- Feeding Friendzy  (Altrusa Temple was also a sponsor for this event).

It was busy but so fun to spend time together--- to see the 100 handbags and kits packed for the Mother's Days gifts, and then pack over 70,000 meals on Thursday night along side Altrusans,  our ASTRA clubs and many friends---it was a full week!

Hope to see everyone at the May 14th meeting---it will be our Altrusan of the Year celebration (along w. a quick business meeting), and then we have Installation on Tuesday night at Oscar Store.

Thanks for all you do for Altrusa Temple--and 'Serving through the Seasons'.

Our club donated over 100 handbags for children at the shelter to give their mom a gift for Mother's Day along with a book for the children.

Here are some photos from packing the kits that are full of needed items for the mothers. This is such a great project, and it was wonderful to hear from advocates from Families in Crisis and how we can continue to help. Thanks Diana and Dana for coordinating this project for the club.

It was a great evening and fun to work with so many other organizations in our community for one of our favorite projects.
