My heart is overflowing this week with love for this club and the Mighty Ninth. What an incredible weekend we had at Conference! I am grateful to have gotten to spend that special time with more than 2- dozen of my Temple Altrusans and I know the rest of you were there in spirit. I truly encourage you to make plans to attend next year
(April 19th - 21st in San Marcos) you will not regret it.
We had the opportunity to hear the AMAZING history of our club as we celebrated the closing of an entire century of service to the great state of Texas and then marched full-force into the next 100 years with just as much passion and ambition for writing our next chapter!
Altrusa Temple received a handful of notable awards for the 2021-2022 year under Michelle DiGaetano's leadership.
2nd Place - Edith DeBusk President's Award!
2nd Place - Mamie L Bass Service Award!
3rd Place - Letha H. Brown Governor's Literacy Award!
1st Place Linda Nichols Foundation Award (Total Contributions)
Club 21 Designation 2021-2022
3rd Place - Dr. Nina Fay Calhoun International Relations Award!
Please join me in thanking Michelle again for her incredible leadership of this club and congratulating her on her newly elected position as a Director on the District Nine board!
We also got to witness the passing of the gavel and banner from Mary Black Pearson to the new District Nine Governor. Please also give Mary a hug and express your thanks for her faithful and gracious leadership of our District over the past 3 years. Her smile may seem a little brighter with her new title "Immediate Past Governor."
And last but far from least, International President, our very own Kathy Folley was able to be with her home club and home district to celebrate this momentous occasion - sharing her vast love for literacy and Altrusa along with the gift it is to spread both across the entire world.
Job very well done ladies!
DON'T FORGET - TOMORROW'S MEETING IS ALTRUSAN OF THE YEAR! This is always a very special day that you won't want to miss - OR be late to!
