Greeter for Altrusa Meeting

We will be on the 2nd floor of the TISD Building.  You will be required to sign-in and then can proceed up the stairs or take the elevator to the 2nd floor.

Grab your computers and phones and join us for a hands-on training that will enhance your Altrusa engagement!

I would like to have as many members as possible at this training.  Those of you who are well versed with ClubRunner as well as those who have never logged on!

We will pair members up so that you  will get more of a directly guided training. So please RSVP so that we can make sure we have enough of our CR Ambassadors onsite and available to assist.

Day of Caring is an annual event sponsored by United Way of Central Texas. Volunteers around the community gather together and are sent out to participate in projects at non-profit agencies in our area. We could be cleaning, organizing, beautifying or doing some other type of assistance. It is a fun and gratifying day to see so many people working together in our comunity. Plus, it's a way for our community to be aware of Altrusa and what we do.

Altrusans are invited to join Neema Village Tanzania Inc for a dinner, auction and entertainment on October 15, 2024 at Hilton Garden Inn, Temple, TX starting at 6:00pm.  Neema Village is a mission in Arusha, Tanzania that began rescuing abandoned babies and now are also helping single mothers start businesses.  Altrusa Temple has supported several projects in the past for Neema.and will hopefully have future projects.  Click the link below to purchase tickets.

Join the caravan as we visit two Altrusan homes.  First stop, Hope LaGrone (heavy appetizers) - 4506 Box Canyon Drive, Temple, TX.  Second stop, Kelli Alsup (dessert) - 5111 Leaning Tree Dr., Temple, TX.  Thank you to everyone who signed up to bring appetizers.  Desserts will be provided.  Please bring your drink of choice. Please try to carpool.

We're having a second get together to put the finishing touches on the TOH goodies.  Email invitation & Info to come! 

Due to the busyness of November, the Patriotism Group will be holding it's November social directly prior to and following our Business Meeting on November 12th at Ralph WIlson Youth Club. Lunch of pizza, salad and cookies will be available for $5.00.

We hope you are able to attend and visit for a short time.

Come join anytime during setup day to help with preparations for the Big Event on Thursday. We need your help in all areas to have the Mayborn all decorated, menu completed, raffle setup and other activities. We will have some signup emails coming out later, but please mark your calendar for Wed--Nov 20th- Taste SETUP/WORK Day.

We will also have breakfast and lunch available, so just bring yourself and enjoy some fellowship time with Altrusans as we put the final touches on the 'It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year' Taste!!

Taste of the Holidays Day! We will celebrate once again with our community and have another awesome event.

We will have many jobs to do before the doors open at 10:30 so plan to come early (more informaton will come out later for where you are needed most).

Set up and decorate Christmas trees for Chrome and Carols, United Way's annual fundraiser. Volunteers may come and go from 11:00 am through 4:00 pm. 

Volunteers are needed to sell raffle tickets at Chrome and Carols, United Way's annual fundraiser. This is a fun event - dress festive! Dinner is provided. 

First of all, THANK YOU for your most recent financial support of the Hilltop Recovery Ministries most recent addition to their service to the Temple Community.....Residential Support for the homeless women of the Temple Community.  

The staff of Hilltop Recovery Ministies would like to invite all Altrusans to come this Monday evening, December 9th  from 5-7 pm to help decorate and furnish the bedrooms and Craft area with items that we purchased with the $2,000 project money. They are extremely grateful for the support that Altrusa Temple has provided over the last year to this most needed addition to the homeless community.

Altrusans will meet at Central Texas Christian School in the cafeteria at 8:30 AM. We are asking for volunteers to help oversee the students as the assemble and prep the bags for delivery.

The tentative plan is to the leave the school around 9:30-10:00 AM and head to the Belton Community Center. Afterwards, we will head to the Belton Senior Center to drop off the assembled bags.

Unfortunately, Belton Senior Housing has requested that we just drop off the bags. No person-to-person delivery will be happening.

Please join us at 11:00 on January 14th, prior to our next club meeting, to help label the Dragoo books for our big project in March.  We have quite a few left to label, so your help would be greatly appreciated!

The first meeting of the planning group for the extension of Altrusa into the Brazos Valley (Bryan/College Station) will be held on Wednesday, January 15th at noon, at BJ's restaurant (the sun room area in the north side). Any member who is  interested in helping on the project is invited to attend and share your ideas.  Please let Debbie Mabry know if you plan to attend so we can get a large enough table. Remember that very generous and AWESOME project we approved for the Temple Community Clinic???  Well, we are ready to offer another hands-on opportunity to see our Health Literacy Project in ACTION!  We would like to see as many members as possible come out and support the Kick-Off Event on January 21st. Join us on Thursday,  January 30th at 6pm on the campus of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor at Farris Hall Commons Room.  Farris Hall is located at 904 University Drive, Belton, TX 76513 directly across from the stadium (four-story apartment building).  Park anywhere in the parking lot and come through the center courtyard where we will greet you. 

Refreshments will be provided.

We are back with another session of our Clubrunner Training.

If you missed the first one, we will review basic functions. We will also dive deeper into all of your questions and help you with hands-on assistance.

Please bring your laptops and open, happy minds!  We will move at the pace of the group and will have plenty of helpers to guide each member through this very valuable tool.

For those who are interested, we will head over to Clem Mikeskas on 57th for dinner after the session (dutch treat).

Please join us before the meeting to help our Days for Girls team bundle over 1,000 items in preparation for kit assembly.  Kit assembly date will be set for sometime in late March or early April.

The Dragoo Goes Pop! workday is here!!

We need many hands to help get this project ready to go to the schools. Come for as much of the time as possible.

You are welcome to bring snacks and drinks to enjoy and share.

We will organize/package the following by grade (K and 1^st) for each campus:

• Toilet paper rolls
• Microwave popcorn
• Red, yellow and orange tissue paper
• Green paper
• Large green pom poms

• Self-stick googly eyes

• Enrichment activity sheets
• Staff t-shirts

Happy Valentine's Day!  We are practicing at our ClubRunner 102 Training!

Well, the schools asked for SPECIFIC times to make deliveries of the Dragoo supplies, so I'm asking for last minute help.

Volunteers need to have SUVs or trucks and will be asked to make ONE delivery. Supplies will need to be picked up MONDAY, February 17th, after 3pm...into the evening is fine. I will do the heavy lifting.

I can't figure out how to manage slots in Sign-up Genius, so I'm listing the time the supplies would need to be delivered to each campus. The Dragoo Crew is still needing Altrusans to help on the Dragoo Goes Pop! presentation days. The primary volunteer responsibility will be to help direct students’ attention to the program…basically, crowd control.

Time critical--All Altrusa volunteers must complete a security clearance with TISD. Use the following link to complete the background check as soon as possible. Be sure to have a photo of your driver's license ready to upload. It takes 7-10 days for TISD to process your application.

It is that FABULOUS time of YEAR!!!  Time to start "ALL THINGS CAMP DREAMCATCHER"!

Please join us with your creative hearts and hands!  We will be working on all the decor that will bless the Dining Hall area that the campers spend a good bit of time. We will also be prepping the craft that will be completed during the camp week and chatting about other needs moving forward with camp prep.

I will have a few munchies for the group.  Please come dressed like you are working on craft projects and comfortable shoes.  We will have jobs that are sitting and standing.  I think if we have 10-12 volunteers present - that will be great!!!
