There will many tasks to do that do not require sewing expertise; for example, cutting, turning shields inside out, trimming and pressing with an iron. Sewers will be present to explain and guide tasks.

02 Oct. 2026 Day of Caring 2026 Oct. 02, 2026 7:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Day of Caring is an annual event sponsored by United Way. Volunteers gather on the morning of October 2 and are sent on specific projects that benefit non-profit agencies in our community. This could include reading to children, cleaning, organizing or other activities that have yet to be determined. Agencies that have been assisted with Day of Caring include Temple Community Clinic, Belton Senior Center, Our Lady of the Angels Maternity Shelter and many more. We meet at 7:30 on Friday, October 2 at the Ralph Wilson Youth Club for breakfast and pep rally. We will then go to our assigned location. The project is usually complete before noon.
